Sky Las Vegas

Architect: Klai Juba Architects
Products: Building Envelope
Location: Las Vegas, Nevada

Goals/Challenges: The “Sky on the Strip” is aptly named as it boasts the most beautiful views and the closest location to the world famous Las Vegas Strip. “Our goal was to maximize views out from the incredibly special location we had. We were looking to incorporate as much glass as we could into our design,” Noted Steve Peck, Associate at Klai Juba. To make matters more interesting, the project was on an incredibly aggressive timeframe. “When you are closing one floor every four days—it makes sense to have integrated solutions, from one source,” Peck added. And the glazing and metal systems requirements on the project were many. They included, Solar Control Low-E glass, tempered and spandrel glass, high-performance thermal sliding windows, glass terrace doors and curtain wall.
Solutions/Products: An ideal project for Oldcastle BuildingEnvelope™ from the start, the 45 story glazed structure consists of 182,000 sq.ft. of architectural glass, 331 windows, 151 glass doors, and over 150,000 square feet of curtain wall. Oldcastle BuildingEnvelope™ designed, managed and manufactured all aspects of the glass and metal requirements on this project— all from one source and all on one master schedule. The designers also knew that when they chose the Series 650 Window Wall that it was no stranger to the Las Vegas skyline. In fact, many of Vegas' landmark towers like the Bellagio, Venetian, Paris, Caesars, Mandalay Bay, and many others feature Oldcastle BuildingEnvelope™ Engineered Walls and Windows.
